Into Memorial Day Weekend - May 28th, 2021

Well finally... it feels like Spring! ...Summer almost. With this weekend being Memorial Day Weekend, I do believe it's the unofficial start of Summer.   I've included some Memorial Day events for you to checkout - as well as some information about the Memorial Day Holiday.  With Summer basically here, I also wanted to share with you my latest blog with favorite patio restaurants.   Hope that you have a great holiday weekend!  Local Happenings Memorial Weekend Backyard Party Celebrate all weekend long with music, food and shopping at Legacy Hall! Memorial Weekend is a FREE event, therefore registration is not required. First come first serve, so click here for more details. Spazmatics: Live on Stage Spazmatics take over the Stage at Grandscape on Saturday, May 29th at 7:00pm. Tables will be spaced 6 feet apart to allow for social distancing, or you can enjoy the show from our vast lawn by bringing a blanket or lawn chairs! This is a free event, but VIP tickets can be purchase here. Memorial Day Celebration at The Texas Pool Join the City of Plano on Monday, May 31 to kick off their 60th summer and celebrate Memorial Day. The gates will be open from 12-6 p.m. You can count on plenty of cannon balls and games of water volleyball!  A Note on Memorial Day Memorial Day is about more than a long weekend or retail sales.  Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.  Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated after the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.  Many people embrace Memorial Day by visiting memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades.  A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.  My Most Recent Blog Post With summer here - it's time to be out on the Patio.  Growing up in California, eating dinner out on the patio was a regular summer occurrence.  Lucky for us, Plano has a plethora of great restaurants.  Check out my latest blog post featuring Plano restaurant patios to hit up this summer.  Who knows, you might even bump into Corky and me at one of these hot spots!
